Women’s Fitness Boot Camp emphasizes on ways to tackle deadly diseases

GEORGETOWN – Program Women’s Fitness Boot Camp series 1/2015 is an effort by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to tackle health problem among the people, especially women.

This is because women are often linked with deadly diseases such as high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes and obesity.

The workshop participants were given education and knowledge through this programme.

The programme was held on 15 August at the Penang Youth and Sports Complex and a total of 62 participants attended to support the programme organized by the Penang Youth and Sports Department.

The programme started with a talk on healthy diet by Penang Youth and Sports Officer, Loo Lean Hiong from the National Sports Centre satellite centre for Penang.

She has also stressed on proper and healthy eating habits in her talk later in the afternoon.

The programme was enlivened with a second talk by Mariani Sanawi entitled exercise to prevent injury.

The programme also featured aerobic and zumba dance performances by a guest facilitator, Muznizilawati from Afza Fitness.

The correct aerobic and zumba dance techniques were also taught in between the performances.

The purpose it was held was to make sports or exercise a culture in our daily life and at the same time produce women who are active and energetic.
