KUALA LUMPUR, 11 July 2026 – Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Institute (ISN), Dr. Vellapandian Ponnusamy, attended the 216th Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Executive Council Meeting and the 45th OCM Annual General Assembly, held at the Auditorium, PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia, Bukit Kiara Sports Complex.
The meeting brought together members of the OCM Executive Council, representatives of National Sports Associations (NSAs), and key stakeholders from Malaysia’s sporting fraternity to deliberate on strategic matters concerning the development and governance of sports in the country.

Dr. Vellapandian’s presence reflects ISN’s continued commitment to fostering strong collaboration with the Olympic Council of Malaysia and national sports stakeholders in advancing Malaysia’s high-performance sport agenda.
As Malaysia prepares for upcoming major international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and the SEA Games, close institutional cooperation remains vital to ensuring athletes receive comprehensive support through sports science, sports medicine, research, innovation, and integrated performance services.
ISN remains steadfast in supporting Team Malaysia through evidence-based practices and integrated high-performance services, contributing towards sustained sporting excellence on the international stage.
