ISN Sports Nutrition Day 2025 Highlights the Power of Science in Fueling Athletic Performance

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 November 2025 – The ISN Sports Nutrition Day 2025 concluded successfully at the Institut Sukan Negara (ISN), bringing together local and international experts, athletes, and professionals to advance understanding of how nutrition science drives elite sports performance.
Held under the theme “Nutrition for Performance: Fueling Athletes – Preparation Towards Competition,” the event served as a knowledge-sharing platform for sports dietitians, nutritionists, coaches, and performance scientists to exchange insights on evidence-based nutrition strategies for athlete preparation, recovery, and excellence.
In his welcoming address, Chief Executive Officer of ISN, Dr. Vellapandian Ponnusamy, emphasized that nutrition remains the foundation of competitive advantage in sports and a core element of ISN’s mission to cultivate a high-performance sporting ecosystem.
“The trajectory of elite performance shows one constant: nutrition is the foundation of competitive advantage. Our event today is a direct and active contribution to the national aspiration for sporting excellence,” said Dr. Vellapandian.
“We have the vision — the national goal of world-class excellence — and the partners and intellectual power in this room to achieve it. Let us now move forward and define those new protocols.”
Dr. Vellapandian also extended appreciation to the event sponsors — PACE and Yakult (Official Sponsors), Amazfit Malaysia, BS Nutrition, InBody, Sportsaddict, Sport Nutrition Academy, and Red Giants Medical Centre (Platinum Sponsors), as well as Aspen (Silver Sponsor) — for their strong support in advancing sports nutrition in Malaysia.
The one-day event featured keynote presentations by renowned international and local experts including Prof. Dr. Ron Maughan, Mr. Yu Liang, Mr. Soh Wai Ching, and Mr. Welson Sim, alongside representatives from the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) and Malaysian Dietitians’ Association (MDA).
Through keynote sessions, expert panels, and interactive workshops, participants explored the latest scientific approaches in optimizing diet for performance and recovery. The event also showcased ISN’s innovations in sports diagnostics, body composition analysis, and athlete-specific nutrition planning.
ISN Sports Nutrition Day 2025 reinforces ISN’s ongoing commitment to integrating science, innovation, and collaboration in Malaysia’s sports ecosystem — ensuring every athlete has access to world-class nutritional support on the journey to global sporting success.
