Enhancing Athletic Recovery, Wellness, and Peak Performance Through Expert Knowledge
Bukit Jalil, 15 May 2025 — The National Sports Institute of Malaysia (ISN) successfully launched the ISN Continuous Education Series 01/2025 with a focused session titled “Sports Chiropractic for Injuries, Wellness, and Performance”, held at Perdana Hall, ISN.
The keynote speaker for the session was Thomas S. Halyk, a highly regarded Sports Chiropractic Diplomate and Doctor of Chiropractic, who also serves as Chairperson of the Sports Chiropractic Council of Malaysia (SCCM). His presentation explored the critical role chiropractic care plays in athlete management — from injury prevention and recovery to enhancing biomechanical efficiency and performance.
The session was moderated by Dr. Wan Nadiah Zainab binti Wan Azman, Medical Officer at ISN, who facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas between the speaker and participants, highlighting interdisciplinary collaborations in sports science and sports medicine.
Attended by ISN practitioners, coaches, medical professionals, and stakeholders from various sporting disciplines, the session provided evidence-based insights and practical knowledge. Emphasis was placed on integrating chiropractic services within Malaysia’s high-performance sports ecosystem, ensuring athletes benefit from holistic and science-backed care.
The initiative marks the first of a series under ISN’s 2025 Continuous Education programme, reaffirming ISN’s commitment to professional development, knowledge exchange, and innovation in the field of sports performance and athlete care.
