2nd ASEAN Sports Cardiology Symposium 2025 Concludes with Strong Regional Commitment to Athlete Heart Health

Kuala Lumpur, 28th Aug 2025 – The 2nd ASEAN Sports Cardiology Symposium (ASCS) 2025, hosted by the Institut Sukan Negara (ISN), concluded successfully after two days of impactful discussions, workshops, and knowledge exchange dedicated to advancing athlete heart health across the region.
The symposium, officiated by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia, brought together renowned cardiologists, sports medicine practitioners, coaches, and health professionals from across ASEAN and beyond. Delegates explored pressing issues in sports cardiology, from pre-participation evaluation (PPE/PCMA) to emergency response preparedness, with a shared goal: to make sports participation safer for athletes at every level.
A Regional Platform for Knowledge and Action
Over the course of the event, participants engaged in interactive workshops and clinical demonstrations, including:
*Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET)
*Echocardiography (ECHO)
*Applied clinical practices in athlete screening and monitoring
